William PIke Challenge - 2026

Omarama School is continuing with the William Pike Challenge for its leadership students this year and has been fortunate enough to team up with the local Fire Brigade who have offered them a cadetship throughout the year.
This is a fantastic opportunity for our leadership group and this cadetship covers off some of the required community service plus passion project hours. The students meet every month at the Fire Station and they are through quite an intensive and varied learning and development programme.

Learning opportunities include:
● Health & Safety
● Parade
● Basic ABC + First Aid
● Hose handling
● Basic rope knots
● Radio handheld basic use
● Hydrant checks
● Field trip

The programme will conclude at the end of the year with students giving a presentation to the community. We are extremely lucky to live and learn in such a supportive community.
